About BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance
The programme aims to provide students with a 360 degree understanding of the field of Accounting and Finance. It also incorporates the study of futuristic topics such as Data Analytics, Social and Environmental Reporting, Wealth Management and Forensic Accounting.
The degree course is incorporated with real-world business, accounting and finance experiences and also creates simulative case studies to help students adapt and prepare for their future careers. Apart from the aforementioned pedagogical methods, the delivery of the course will be initiated through lectures by experts in the field, industry specialists as well as guests lecturers, workshops, group discussions, projects, presentations, assignments and examinations.
Offered by the University of Gloucestershire, the course consists of 23 Modules that sum up to 360 CATs in credits. Moreover, after completion of the degree, the course attracts maximum exemptions (credits) from these global accounting bodies: ACCA, CIMA (CGMA) and AIA. Meaning that should the students choose to pursue this programme they will benefit from receiving exemptions from 8 modules of the ACCA course and will be able to complete the course within 5 modules. Typically a degree and an ACCA course may take upto a minimum of 5 years to complete, however, by pursuing this BA in Accounting and Finance degree, students can complete both programmes within a span of 4 years.
