The first step in organizational development is the identification of areas where there need for a change. Every need that is required is taken care of and analyzed in detail and a detailed plan is made for organizational development. This organizational development plan will be having description about what will be done on each need and what will be the effects that will happen and how it will improve the working conditions. If there are no organizational development plans then the organization will have difficult times dealing with change management.

Organizational development is an essential part for the expansion of the company. How much sales can be expected through the expansion is possible and how much demand will be there for the products can easily be understood from the organizational development plan. How much extra personnel will be needed and how the distribution of work be carried out etc will be given in detail in the organizational development plan.

Quality improvement plans also will be considered while developing the organizational development plan which increases the efficiency of the system followed inside the company. In the process of developing products also this analysis is important because it analyzes various factors concerning the development of the product with respect to efficiency.
