Environmental degradation is a global reality; pollution, deforestation, and loss of biodiversity are on the rise. We all know that people and planet can only thrive in a healthy ecosystem. Students and employees are Westford’s most valuable stakeholders; therefore it has pledged to plant a tree in the name of every employee and student who joins its programs for the next one year.
This initiative is a symbolic gesture that represents our core values of providing support, and growth opportunities to our global student community and engaging employees in our CSR initiatives. We have always tried to be a part of meaningful projects that makes a difference; therefore, Westford is working in close partnership with Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) in the UAE to realize our vision; the growth and development of ‘OUR PEOPLE’ and ‘OUR PLANET’. We are actively seeking similar collaborations with NGOs in other parts of the world as well to have a positive environmental impact globally.
Just as a tree requires care, patience, and time to grow and bear fruits, students also require the same nurturing environment to grow and develop themselves. We embody the values of quality education providing access, support, guidance, care, affordability, and employability that are instrumental for giving our students ‘A SOUND FOUNDATION’. The entire journey of a student at Westford will have several milestones and we hope that our students branch out to reach their full potential…this is our DREAM!
EEG is delighted to announce its Partnership with Westford University College wherein we will plant one sapling in the name of every student who joins their programme in the UAE. We give praise to the management of Westford University College for rolling out this initiative with a sound belief that the youth can influence others to adapt an environmentally friendly lifestyle throughout the UAE.
Education plays an important role in making people aware of the various problems plaguing our environment and taking responsibility to protect the earth’s natural resources and restore our damaged ecosystems. It is imperative to educate people on the complex environmental issues confronting our planet so that they acquire the skills they need to be creative problem solvers and powerful advocates.

Inspired by the UN Environment Programme, Westford is committed to Generation Restoration: Ecosystem Restoration for People, Nature and Climate. Staying true to our commitment, on World Environment Day, Westford pledges to plant a sapling for every student enrolment for the next year. Westford has partnered with EEG to plant 550 trees in the UAE. With the mission to spread our contribution far and wide, we are also in discussion with multiple NGOs in Asia and Africa to plant over 1000 trees across these regions in the next 12 months. Our aim is to educate our students to preserve and conserve nature and be committed to protecting the environment. Restoration of the ecosystem is everyone’s responsibility, and we are doing our part – one tree at a time!

Last year, Westford participated in the tree planting campaign that was held in Al Qudra on December 20, 2020. The event recognized and supported individuals, and organizations that successfully pursue recycling programs regularly. Westford along with other organizations, planted 11 trees, each with a variety of environmental benefits. The objective of joining the EEG program was to aid EEG’s resolve to plant 2000 trees, and to celebrate 11 years of their successful operations in the UAE.
