The Westford Sharjah Cup Golf Championship was held at the Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club on 13th March with a lot of aplomb and enthusiasm amongst all the forty participants. Right from commencement of the tournament at 7.30 am with a shotgun start till its end at 5.30 pm, the participants competed fiercely for the arduous 36 holes they played with a lot of competitive spirit and gusto. The Sharjah Golf Club arranged a very sumptuous lunch and dinner for all participants. Arnel Valencia was absolutely delighted at the end to be crowned the winner of this very popular Westford Sharjah Golf Cup, with a total score of one over par 71 points, to win the coveted cup at the end. Sami Butt was declared the runner up, with Joe Bautista getting to the third place in the tournament. There were additional Best Rounds, Senior and Gross Champion prizes given to participants for their skillful play in the championship. The Westford Sharjah Cup is gaining a lot of popularity and generating a lot of excitement amongst golfers to participate and show their mettle in the two full rounds of golf played in one day. Westford University College thanks all contestants for their enthusiastic participation in the championship, and also the Sharjah Golf Club management for conducting the tournament so seamlessly.
